3. How do I access Peoples Connect Bill Pay?
Access to Peoples Connect Bill Pay is established through Peoples Connect Online Banking. You must be an enrolled Online Banking customer to add the optional Bill Pay feature. Please contact our Customer Call Center at 1-800-479-2196 if you are not already enrolled.

4. How do I enroll for Bill Pay?
Online Banking customers are ready to go! Log into Peoples Connect Online Banking using your Access ID and Password, select the Bill Pay enrollment button and complete the Bill Pay enrollment form. You will be asked to read and agree to the Online Banking and Bill Pay disclosure to complete the application process. If you are not an Online Banking customer, call our Customer Call Center at 1-800-479-2196 to learn how to enroll.

5. How long does the enrollment process take?
Once your Bill Pay enrollment application is completed and the terms and conditions have been agreed to, your application will be automatically submitted to us for review. You can expect to receive a response typically within three business days.

6. What does this service cost me?
Our Peoples Connect Bill Pay is the easy way to pay and is absolutely FREE provided it is used at least once every 3 months.

7. What accounts can I access?
Peoples Connect Bill Pay may be connected to a Peoples Trust Company Checking Account. During the enrollment process, you will select a primary Checking Account. Once enrolled, you may request to add any other Peoples Trust Company Checking Accounts you may own.

8. What type of bills can I pay?
You can pay just about any one within the continental United States, whether it’s your monthly mortgage payment, credit card bill or the local merchant down the street. You can even transfer funds to your child at college!

9. Are there any limitations with using Bill Pay?
Peoples Connect Bill Pay is a 'pay anyone model', however, there are a few exceptions you should be aware of. We recommend that you do not use Bill Pay for court ordered payments, state or federal taxes or security purchases.

10. Should the bill payment processing date be the same as the bill due date?
You should schedule payments a minimum of five (5) business days for your check payments and a minimum of three (3) business days for your electronic payments prior to the actual date. Please be aware that weekends and Federal Reserve holidays are not counted as business days.

11. How late in the day can I enter, edit or delete a payment?
You can add, edit or delete a bill payment up until 4:00 PM EST cut-off time on the processing date you originally scheduled.

12. How soon will my Bill Pay account be charged?
Bill payments are debited from your designated checking account on the processing date. Please note that bill payments on the processing date are not reflected in the Bill Pay account balance.

13. What if I do not have enough money in my Bill Pay account to cover a scheduled transfer or payment?
Peoples Trust Company will treat the Bill Pay items just like any check or electronic transaction you conduct. If funds are not available on the bill processing date, your transfer or bill payment may be subject to cancellation. The best way to prevent overdrawing your account is to insure there are sufficient funds available on the bill processing date. To protect yourself from possibly overdrawing your account, you may want to consider establishing an Overdraft Protection Account.

14. When and how are my payments delivered and how can I ensure that my payee receives my payment by the due date?
After funds are withdrawn from your account, we may remit your payment(s) by electronic funds transfer, or if the payee does not accept electronic payments, by mailing your payee a check. Because of the time it takes to remit your payment to the payee, they will not receive payment on the processing date (the date you instructed us to deduct the funds from your account). Therefore, you should allow sufficient time for payments to be received and posted to your account. You may verify receipt of the payment by your payee by contacting them directly or checking your next billing statement for verification of posting of the payment.

15. What if I have forgotten my Password and I get locked out?
In the event that you forget your Password or get locked out, please contact us or stop by one of our branches so we may reset your password.

16. If I share an account with another person, can we share an Access ID and Password and both use Bill Pay?
Your Access ID and Password are unique to you and should never be shared with anyone as this is the key to all your Peoples Trust Company accounts and your Bill Pay account. Each account owner can enroll in Online Banking and Bill Pay and will be provided with a unique Access ID and Password.

19. How secure is Bill Pay?
The security and protection of your accounts and our systems are of the utmost importance to us. We take extraordinary care in providing a safe and secure Online Banking and Bill Pay delivery system. To ensure that your personal information remains confidential, we use SSL technology to transmit and receive all of your personal information across the Internet. This technology encrypts (scrambles) your information so it is virtually impossible for anyone to read it. If you forget to logout or are inactive for more than fifteen minutes your Bill Pay session will automatically be closed. Additionally, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to help prevent unauthorized access to your personal information. We continually update and test our technology to improve these protections and to ensure the integrity of your personal information.

20. What can I do to increase my security and prevent identity theft?
You can provide additional security for your Online Banking and Bill Pay activity by:

  • Not disclosing any of your Online Banking Access ID’s or Passwords to anyone.
